Causality of Generations
A downloadable game for Windows
The kingdom of Cau is home to the people of Cau. They call themselves the Cauens. The previous King struggled with a disease of epidemic proportions that spread through the kingdom and brought it to ruin. This King was your father, and they are dying. You are expected to take the mantle and the crown, rebuild the kingdom, and become King.
Causality of Generations is a 3D isometric low-poly city-simulation medieval-inspired resource-management game, developed in Unreal Engine 5, where you have to manage a kingdom’s population, resources, growth, and happiness. Every decision you make changes something. Disease always plagues the land; it will make it harder for the King to truly rule and rebuild. Will the Cauens grow to love your rule, will they riot to overthrow you, or will your kingdom lose to disease?
The main elements of Causality of Generations are driven by player management of resources and how they city-build, which affect the kingdom’s well-being. This introduces a happiness system and an intensive resource-management system that faces many challenges or stresses of hunger, homelessness, riots, fire, death, and disease. Every action affects happiness. The King builds structures, allocates manpower, and addresses random events, or can choose not to.
